i noticed someting similar when observing how much more simple the possesions of blacks are in their mud huts (nothing except some blanket to sleep on) vs. the mayan indians living in the jungles of central america whom had ovens and other basic tools for living. i think the indians there also made their own clothing and pottery for selling for cash.
