I can personally attest to that point on the aristocratic women. I have an older female relative, (technically my great aunt). She was never really wealthy, but her daughter (also my relative) married into big money and has a husband who owns some big construction company. And at every big family event, of course she is bragging about her son in law and how wealthy and rich THEY are. And subtly craps on the rest of the family.
