I'm guessing because I don't understand what they were saying that I don't understand how this was scary. I watched the whole thing and honestly, I really liked it. I thought the animation was really well come and looked very pleasing to me.
Just wish I knew what they were saying. I'm guessing the story was about some prince that wanted a lot of priced possessions and learned in the end not to have things locked up as trophies at the end.

This was actually one of my favorites when I was a kid, along with some more or less lenthy ones. But they were relatively rare to be seen. Most of times there was only psychodelic trash from the 80s as well as others that I had seen thousands of times before.

It is a fairytail by Wilhelm Hauff by the way, he has made more stories that have a similar creepy vibe, I quite enjoy them.
