They can easily be replaced with digital voice synth, the tech is already quite good and it will get better. Also 3d rendering is progressing with the same pace, along with AI (understanding of emotions, intent), natural language processing etc. 2D girls will be still there, will be using the same tech. It's just users' preference.
You know what the best thing is? Once this gets becomes popular, there will be many open source projects of this kind. Then people can download and improvise the existing codes. There will be millions of different unique waifus for different tastes of incels. You can even run your own anime waifu server and earn freaking cash from your anime camwhore. There will be a whole virtual camwhoring economy and companies will be established.
At some point, artificial/virtual foids will completely replace real roasties, at least in the camwhoring domain.

No woman would do it for free, point is there are alternatives like vocaloids. Her conversation can be AI generated, chatbots have gotten good. The point is that if they wanted to make a pure 2d cam girl they can implement these technologies. They won't though because it is a business and that takes too long and it is not good enough to make shekles out of people.
Do you have any evidence of this improving men's lives, there are already virtual youtubers making money and there are all real women behind them. Women will just put a 2d mask to mask their uglyness, it does not help men. Only AI will help us. Most 2d guys don't want to exploit 2d girls for money, its more of a private consumption market. Why would an man pay for the attention of a 2d model? That is stupid, the whole 2d artwork market runs of mostly freely available artwork. All this is doing is empowering real women to be "quirky hentai loving otakus" with virtual avatars.
