I think many comes to live the Hollywood dream but soon reality hits them and they start coping with drugs and become homeless.

Not entirely true, my aunt and uncle used to live up there so I would visit when I was a little kid. They do not live there anymore bc they said it's too dangerous now. The last time I visited in 2017 (when it supposedly starting going downhill) I did see shit and needles in street. There was also a naked homeless guy running around Union Square
They are not testing on Ukraine, but they have capabilities to launch nuclear warheads in Ukraine and if the war escalates North Korea might do it.
