The early Corded Ware weren’t Yamnaya descendants, but the mid-late Corded Ware were. They mixed with the Yamnaya over time to the point that many Corded Ware samples are like 70% Yamnaya admixture-wise.

And yeah, the Yamnaya were mostly not blonde-haired and blue-eyed, but they didn’t look anything like IVC people either lol. They had slightly swarthy skin (like modern Meds) plus dark hair, dark eyes, and robust Caucasoid skulls. Modern Europeans depigmented over time for better vitamin D synthesis in the low UV climate.

The reason for me and some others using Yamnaya interchangeably with Aryan is that the Yamnaya are the strongest contender for the PIE progenitor, so they’d be the closest thing to pure “Aryan” in the sense that the Nazis and other Aryanist racialists used it. Like DarkStar said, there's a kernel of truth to what they say (there was indeed Mediterranean pheno presence in pre-Anglo Britain and there still is, likely thanks to Roman settlers) but they blow it out of proportion and make baseless claims like saying the whole of Britain was swarthy in the past. The purpose of this lie is to both:

• Make it seem like Britain has always been "brown"
• Make the Anglo-Saxons seem more foreign to the Celts than they actually would've been, in order to push the idea that the UK is a "country of immigrants" like new world nation-states
