Yesterday, I went to my local supermarket, which is about a ten-minute walk from my house, to buy snacks and other items. As soon as I arrived at the store, I gathered all the snacks and drinks I wanted and headed towards the self-checkout. However, to my dismay, the self-checkout was closed. This situation caused me extreme anxiety because I prefer avoiding interactions with people at all costs. Nevertheless, I made my way to the regular checkout area and noticed that only one checkout lane was open. I approached it, but as I got closer, the female cashier gave me an annoyed and disgusted look.
Undeterred, I greeted the cashier politely when I reached her checkout area. However, instead of reciprocating my friendly greeting, she responded with a hello in an angry and annoyed tone. I started placing my items on the conveyor belt for purchase and noticed that she was handling them roughly, almost as if she were crushing my chips. The sound was very loud, and I nicely asked her to be more gentle with my snacks. In response, she looked at me and replied with an angry "okay."
At this point, I could feel a growing sense of rage within me. While paying with my card, I overheard her mumbling under her breath, "Hurry up." That's when I snapped and confronted her, asking what her problem was. As a result, she began yelling at me, drawing the attention of other customers. and then the store security escorted me out before i could explain myself.
