An interesting remark in the comments is that her mistake was likely to have tried to hang with bent arms. It's obviously harder than with straight arms but she was able to do it for a bit until she couldn't anymore and her arms were tired.
Honestly, I could have done that mistake myself. I can hang with bent arms, I can even pull myself up, but in a dynamic situation, with the additional centrifugal force, I don't know to be honest.
The thing is, she knew this was a bad idea, as can be seen in her long hesitation beforehand. Somehow she reminded me of Franz Reichelt :
