Should robots be granted citizenship, the same as any human? Robots will never be the same as human, because they aren't alive. They are just mere machines. But, aren't we also just machine. Chemical and sexual machines is what we are. The filtering of energy is what makes a living organism a living organism, but this robot is just a series of interconnected networks.

The filtering of energy is what makes a living organism a living organism, but this robot is just a series of interconnected networks made to replicate a living humanoid. They are a different type of machine than us, but very similar. Our emotions are just chemical reactions within our brains, and a robot's "emotions" are programmed and/or learned responses. Both responses are very similar in the fact that they are preprogrammed responses, whether it be artificial or organic. Perhaps humans are more unpredictable than robots in their actions because they are much more complex?[/font]

Titanfall may be a reality in the future with human piloted robots.

To me, "freedom" is the factor. The ability to do something out of your own self will. For instance, I could go up and say "to hell with this site" and ask the mods to ban my account. I have no reason to do so, but I can do it, I have the freedom to choose this action or not. I can, if I want, drop out of school right now. I won't graduate, I won't go to grad school, but I can do it if I choose to do it. Robots can't do this, they always have a parameter to operate within and can't say "fuck it, I'm doing this irrational thing simply because I can."

You're saying you wouldn't want them to be free, or they can't be free?

That they can't be free.

Makes sense, but what if they're programmed to make their own choices not based off of a barrier of operation?

If they can make any irrational choice just because they simply have the will to do so, then I'll consider them human-like.

It's time for them to be equipped with bombs and do the takeover and nuke the humanrace.
