Some people just think literally any character with a vaguely anime-style design looks like a "child"...though I suspect a lot of them know damn well that character is supposed to be a grown ass woman, they're just engaging in moral posturing. It's not enough to call men who like this incel neckbeard losers or whatever, they have to call them pedos too, so it looks like their anger is actually "MoRaLLy jUsTiFieD outrage".
If someone is trying to make an argument against something and they feel the need to invoke "children" in scenarios where literally none are involved, they're just trying to be manipulative and they have no actual arguments. It's easily one the dirtiest bad faith tactics there is. Unfortunately these "arguments" appeal to the masses.
