A New Jersey woman is facing charges of bias intimidation, harassment and assault after video showed her hurling racial slurs at a hotel clerk in Mount Laurel.
Elizabeth Trzeciak, 46, was staying at a nearby hotel, but suddenly showed up at the front desk of the Super 8 hotel on Fellowship Road while intoxicated at around 12:30am Monday, police say.
Video shows Trzeciak shouting at the clerk and calling him the N-word multiple times.
“Look, you nigger give me a call, Black man. Give me a call,” she can be heard yelling.
She then takes items off the front desk and throws them at the clerk who remained calmed throughout the ordeal.
She ends her rant with “Good luck, idiot!” before exiting the hotel lobby, the video shows.
The Mount Laurel Police Department released a statement regarding the incident Wednesday saying that police found Trzeciak in the Super 8 parking lot after responding to a call for disorderly conduct.
She seemed intoxicated and was initially allowed to leave with a family member to return to her own hotel.
But when the video surfaced later, police charged her with bias intimidation, simple assault and harassment.
MLPD also clarified that New Jersey does not have a listed offense titled “hate crime” — and that such crimes are called “bias intimidation” in New Jersey.
