It's been about two months since his passing I believe, the dust has settled and his death confirmed, and it saddens me to see little acknowledgment of the event.
For those who don't know, Terry was known for programming Temple OS, a strange operating system designed purposely to be the Third Temple spoke of in the Bible.
I can't say I followed his tale all too closely while he was alive, but in the months leading up to his death I became more interested in the peculiar man and his work.
Originally an atheist, one day he experienced a so called 'revelation', and since then claimed to be in direct contact with God, who ordered him to build the OS. This led to many unusual specifications being present in the system, all of which apparently where chosen by God himself, and despite their impracticabilities, they really give the software a sense of mystery and otherworldliness that compare to nothing else. He worked on Temple OS for 12 years, throughout all his misadventures, and eventually he gained notoriety among the programming and software development communities.
Diagnosed with schizophrenia, he went through much hardship in life, often homeless, in trouble with the law, and alone. The details surrounding his death are unclear, but it is suspected to have been suicide. He was hit by a train in The Dalles, Oregon, on August 11th, aged 48. He removed all his social media hours before this, and uploaded his final video, in which, personally at least, I find there to be a few pieces of evidence suggesting a sense of hopelessness and gloom, perhaps foreshadowing his suicide.
Thankfully, many of his videos and streams are still available online, and no doubt always will be, for us to observe the legend at work. I'd recommend looking into it all, and checking out Temple OS itself, it's all very interesting. I suppose he knew nothing of us or the blackpill, but he was a damn truecel by our telling, that's for sure.
It's a shame to see him gone, he was a real one of a kind on this planet of NPCs, and his passing no doubt robs us a great deal of that indescribable magic we find the world to be so lacking in. Here is his website, in which his final video is embedded. http://www.templeos.org/
