It's peak. I played it 8+ hours each day for 6 months back in uni days. I think new dlc dropped recently. I'm scared to start it again i sperg out and hyper focus on it and it's too much of a time sink right now

I'm mostly a vanilla plyer, usually just vanilla+ stuff.

I like to finish playthroughs with the DLC endings first, so far i've finished the vanilla ending, royalty ascension and even the ideology DLC ending (yes that's 3 colonies getting to 300k wealth) Now I want to get into the biotech and anomaly DLC more. And eventually the spaceship DLC, odyssey i believe it's called. Once im thru all the DLC i'll consider adding more mods. but the game is so rich in gameplay hours even without mods. Probably the best game in decades.

A new beginning

I'm using all DLC up to anomaly (So no odyssey)
And super basic vanilla mods, (minimap, common sense)

day 4:
we've converted some old ruins into a temporary barracks and constructed a communal storage/eating area as well as some basic defenses and a primitive research facility.

we've spotted and slightly investigated a weird monument to the south east.

it's inspired by dwarf fortress and it's basically the same game except you're a sci fi colony.

Unfortunately any game that becomes popular gets invaded by troons faggots etc. But It's a singleplayer game anyway

Day 11: We've built a perimter and discovered an ancient facility of some sort inside the local mountain. We've also set up some basic refrigeration and some hospital beds.

A few days ago when our ghoul broke into the mountain, we discovered horrifiyng flesh creatures. we've aptly named them roasties for their beef looking flaps.
Furthermore the monument in the south east has begun to stir. We continue to update our anomaly log with these findings.
