Kinda creepy how socially acceptable it is to hate on ugly guys for no reason. If a guy is ugly his personality seems to be completely ignored.

I'm glad that's the case due to him being rich. Rather have him fat and ugly than a chad with tons of money and fame, no way any human should be allowed to experience a life like that.
When you're ugly, everyone think you have to play it cool when people make fun of you in a mean way. They are entitled to your respect even if they are treating you like shit in the first place.
And the worst in that story is that he's not even particularly ugly. He's a bit overweight, ok, but who isn't in America nowadays ? I mean, he just looks like average american Joe, and if he was more into sport, he could almost become a Chad lite considering his regular facial features.
I remember when I saw that moment from "Le Grand Journal" some years ago (the part in french). It's quite an old stuff (the broadcast doesn't exist anymore because the channel had financial problems, not a big loss tbh). The intervenor was particularly despicable on that particular moment, and most other intervenors were not even funny on most other subjects. It was a "politically correct" show most of the time, which basically means they allowed themselves to bash on easy targets and never talked about important issues. I still remember how awful this was despite the fact it's an old archive.
