Venting Repressing Neediness

As a kid I was told by someone older than me "you're so needy" and I had to ask an adult what that meant. Since then I learned to constantly repress any needy questions. Now I've reached a point where they dont arise, at the cost of not needing anyone, being alone and being okay with that.

But I remember how painful it was to present as calm and in control whilst being eaten up by impulses to ask needy questions inside.
