I used to hold the same view, but atheism only brings moral relativism, hedonism, nihilism, subjectivity, and antinatalism. In other words, societal decay.

As much as religion doesn't resonate with me, people need something that is metaphysical to give meaning and purpose to their lives, to justify their suffering, otherwise they just give up.
