This was directed by William Friedkin, the same guy who made the first Exorcist movie. It is about four guys on the run from their home countries that end up in a third-world South American town run by an oil drilling company. They are desperate to leave as poverty and hardship are everywhere. When an oil well catches fire, the supervisor of the mining operation is too cheap and desperate to wait for explosives to be shipped in to blow out the fire. So, he hires these four men to drive unstable explosives over 200 miles in beat-up trucks through mountain roads jungles, terrorists, and other hardships. It is a very good movie, but also one of the most depressing movies ever made.
Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack, as well.
