And well depends on your taste really. Personally I think DiGiorno is pretty good for what it is (but overpriced honestly) especially the stuffed crust. Jack's is a good really cheap option.
Could just do carryout at a place, because it's the delivery fee (which doesn't go to the driver but to the Jewish corporation that charges it simply because they can and because us dumb complacent Americans can't be assed to actually boycott a company unless the owner says he's against gay marriage or some stupid shit like that) and tip that makes it expensive. Domino's does 7.99 carryout 3-toppings every day I'm pretty sure.

It's not all western countries, mainly just the U.S. because we're the home of corporate greed run amok. Anyhow tipping started (and still is in most countries) as just like an occasional thing service workers would get. Eventually companies here saw that and decided to exploit it being like "they get tips, so we don't have to pay minimum wage!"
Keep in mind that minimum wage here is only $7.25 (it depends on the state, but that's the federal minimum and the minimum in most red States). So even if they were getting minimum wage, that isn't shit -- ESPECIALLY in the case of delivery drivers that use their own cars, and pay for their own gas/maintenance/repairs.
As for how much delivery drivers get, it depends on the company but most try to pay less than minimum wage because "they get tips!" So it's to me another form of corporate welfare; public subsidizes their underpaid workforce so they don't have to. Fact is if not for the tips, nobody would do it for more than a day before quitting.
Personally I like the tips because it makes an otherwise repetitive job a bit more interesting (much like a scratch off ticket I guess). You get those occasional crazy tips which are always awesome, though you also have days where you aren't getting shit. At the end of the day though you usually come out making more than people working at McDonald's and most other low pay shit jobs anyways, not that that's saying much.
But the fact that companies use tipping as an excuse not to pay minimum wage (much less an actual living wage) makes my blood boil.
