In case you didn't know, prisoners in solitary confinement are allowed to read books. If reading fixed social isolation, solitary would be a breeze.

Instead, it is an experience of psychological torture that is so horrific that many prisoners choose to reenter GP and get raped every day in their cell instead of having to spend their time in solitary.

Also, any time someone recommends reading a book, I want to disembowel them. It's so effeminate. It's the classic femoid idea of what it means to be "intellectual." It takes me back to my childhood when I was bored during summer vacation and my mom always suggested it.

Reading books rots your brain. At least the kind you're referring to.

When you tell us to read a book, you're not talking about an encyclopedia or a textbook or one of George Carlin's books.

No, you mean some faggoty fiction "dat openz a whooole newwww worrrrrld to you where you use your imaginationzzz."

Using your imagination does not make you smarter, morons. There's a reason every avid reader I have ever met is a complete moron.

Smart reading is looking through old newspaper archives and seeing that they were touting immunotherapy treatment for cancer in the 1970s, and going, "LOL! And 40+ years later, they're talking about immunotherapy like it's some new thing. They're never going to make any real progress on cancer. What a joke."

Dumb reading is letting the author narrate some fictional story for you for leisure while you adjust your neck 100+ times and your leg falls asleep. It's a passive process where you never practice critical thinking. Whatever the author tells you is automatically true.

I'll bet there's a huge correlation between people who read a ton of fiction and people who hit the downvote button on reddit and don't respond to the comment they're downvoting.

Telling an incel to "read a book" is also an indirect admission that reality sucks, and as a cope, you need fiction to temporarily escape how much your life sucks. This is what foids do in every facet of life, after all.

"I just heard a really good life-affirming platitude! Wanna hear it?" - Femoid.

I like reading too much to really shit on it tbh. But you are right, reading itself doesn't make you smart or anything.

It's a form of entertainment. Like how reading what other people are posting on this forum is entertainment. Reading a book is just reading someone's thoughts expressed on paper. Which people you choose to listen to is up to you. I dont expect you would be spending much time reading twoxcrhomosomes on cuckit, same as how you wouldnt waste time reading fantasy romance books. You can choose to read something that is interesting and useful, in which case telling you to read a book would be good advice

They mean self-help books. Like the kind Roosh V sells. Obviously not much help for incels since they all pretty much boil down to "clean your room and take a shower".

:feelsokman: My favorite is when people say to read biographies of successful people to become successful. Yeah, because reading about Einstein or Napoleon will help me.

I have a read a decent amount of books in my life but only like 3 or 4 novels.

The rule of 33% baby.

I can't just sit and read a book, I always have to fiddle with something or being doing something else at the same time, its annoying really

I read 2 a month most non-fiction.

Unless that book is SIEGE by James Mason

it's over for bookwormcels

The only benefits is that it helps me arguing against feminists or IT. Most of the books I read are non fiction and are based on history. I was able to learn more about the past and be aware whats right for the present. Except arguing with them is like talking to a brick wall. :woke:

It's even worse when someone suggests you read Shakespeare. I can't fucking stand it. Compared to Shakespeare, the Star Wars movies are high art. Shakespeare is massively overrated, and always has been. And before anyone mocks me for comparing George Lucas and William Shakespeare, let me remind you that in his heyday, he was considered trashy, lowbrow entertainment for the masses.

The biggest conceit of this advice is that using your imagination will somehow make you more reasoned or intelligent. To call this a fantastic leap in logic would be entirely too charitable. I have never seen a shred of evidence that using your imagination produces even a whit of critical thinking skills.

Reading is fun tbh

books = knowledge = power = justice
you should read code by charles petzold

Most books are for cucks

Reading non-fiction is useful though, gives you more knowledge and arguments to win debates.
Novels and the like are just another form of entertainment , I enjoy reading sci-fi ones.

Same tbh, I can't concentrate. I easily zone out without even realizing it within two paragraphs in.

If nothing else (which I don't believe to be the case), reading has value in just giving your brain some chill time from the damaging effects of the vidya, porn, anime, etc.

Self-Help Books are only for bluepilled idiots. The only one who profits from it is the book writers who are laughing at the dumb people who bought their books and made them rich.

Fresh womb for chad.
Dusty tome for incel.

Instead of reading (consuming) you should be writing (creating), is better for you.
You are actually using your imagination and can make money if you are good enough.

It all depends on what you're reading

It's a form of entertainment

Barely, reading is to entertainment as walking is to transportation. Its boring as hell, if you scanned someones brain during reading compared to during a movie or even a documentary their brain is more stimulated when not reading. Its just an obsolete form of entertainment.

The only reason I'd read a book is for educational reasons.

youre just a dopamine junkie

Reading books is to boring for me anyway

There's no book for your face

youre just a dopamine junkie

That's like saying to someone who likes to eat good tasting food "you're just a taste junkie". Yeah food is better when it tastes good, entertainment is better when it stiumlates the brain more, why not enjoy the best.

Reading is pretty nice though. It can be a good cope.

I also like to read, especially books about software engineering, but guess what Chad is doing while we read our books..

Teen threesome

yup, our reading is just another cope

Well it depends, why you eat tasty food. What are the benefits and disadvantages to eating tasty food both long term and short term? Usually it tastes good so thats the short term benefit but is unhealthy. If a person chooses to order unhealthy, greasy pizzas every day instead of eating some halfway decent food that is animalistic, low IQ behaviour. Its the ability to break out of pure impulses and base desires and make rational, long term strategic choices that make us the dominant species on this planet

People who like to be alone and read books aren't likely to end up in jail in the first place.

Comparing apples to oranges, you are arguing intelligence when the subject at hand is entertainment. I even claimed the only time I read is in terms of intelligence (knowledge building), in terms of entertainment its inferior.

Reading novels and fiction isn't "high IQ". Its an inefficient means of giving your body the dopamine response it desires from "entertainment" (which is the very point of entertainment). Just like walking is an inefficient means of transportation. If we were talking about walking for health reasons I'd agree, do you get the point.

Something can be useful or absolutely useless and inferior, based on the goal it is intended to achieve

Superior/Efficient >>>>>>>> Inferior/Inefficient
Walking (Health)>>>>>>>>>>>Walking (Transportation)
Reading (Learning)>>>>>>>>>Reading (Entertainment)
Cardio (Weight Loss)>>>>>>>Cardio (Building Muscle Mass)

absolutely agree

as men we need to be doing something active. Sitting down and reading a book is a feminine hobby. I never liked reading its too boring for me. I feel like this ties into why females do better in school compared to men. School is structured in a way that benefits women and not men. Its too feminine and not hands-on.
