Code Vein is pretty good imo.
Graphics took me a little to get used to because I've never played a game with this specific kind of anime style, but they are really nice in the end.
Story is good, I like it. There will be times in the game where you have to collect "items" to get more background info on the game, which is why you could have little plotholes if you don't collect everything.
The difficulty is demanding enough, it has hard places that confuse you (like a white palace maze area), if you play it blind. Though, a lot of the times your helpers/the ppl who follow you, carry you.
If you are a hardcore Dark Souls fan who will view Code Vein as the "anime version of dark souls", then the game probably won't be for you tbh. The people that dislike it think that it's the anime dark souls, when the game is just taking elements from dark souls, but has it's own story, etc.

I mostly choose females too tbh. They mostly have better customization imo. Their animations are better, and a lot of them feel "slimmer" and give me a better feel to play.

The tutorial gave me next to zero time to acclimate myself to the controls, so I spent a lot of time doing just that. The fact that it was the very first Souls-like I'd ever touched was no help. Still fun once I started getting the hang of things.
I think I'll get it. Winter sale is wrapping up and it should be a nice addition to my relatively small collection.

Ah yea, videogames sometimes "expect" you to know certain controls, if that makes sense. Code Vein isn't very beginner friendly, but its still a nice game.
