i went to a new pub today a couple streets away instead of my local as they've shut down for renovations to have some beers like 2 hours ago. I saw two girls at the bar one of whom i recognised from my course (we had classes together like 3 times a week from september last year until the end of march literally). we were in a group project together as well before christmas break so we have had interactions before. since i recognised her i went up and was like hey youre "anna" right? and she looked at me briefly and denied being that person. i should've left right there but instead i was like we did a group presentation in december im sure you are "anna". she then said "oh sorry i heard you say hannah and remind me what's your name again". before i could respond her friend turned around from the bar with their drinks and was like "sorry to interrupt we're going out for a smoke" and dragged her away. i wanted to get a nice pint but ended up downing 4 shots of tequila and returning home immediately out of embarrassment. i'm sure she heard me the first time as the pub was relatively empty and not too loud.
