Isn't that what women do also? I've lurked a bit and read once a post how they don't want their looksmatch(from my fuzzy memory), so why is it a surprise when men do the same? Also women are ones who are less likely to settle with a looksmatch , compared to us dudes who'd often pick bottom of the barrel, and no, this guy choosing a slightly less ugly woman doesn't disprove shit. Everyone would've, if opportunity reared it's head through, chosen a better option.

That's not how it works. Men are always told to do better IF they want a better looking girl. They are told to endlessly self improve, even if it means getting a below average looking girl.
There is no male privilege. Is dying in a war privilege? Is getting circumcized privilege? Is having to do heavy work to keep roof above your head male privilege? Women are ones, on the contrary, who are just as ,if not even more, rewarded for sticking up with a good looking man, compared to his male counterpart who needs some serious skills (money or luck) to pull through and score a genuine 6.
