this is in regards to autistic fixations and hobbies:
do you have a long term, single main interest? or do you cycle sporadically between multiple?

i am of the latter, and i definitely see it as a net negative. i feel like if i could just focus on one of them long term, i could actually get really good at something.
like playing guitar for example, i will practice every day for a few weeks but as soon as i start to see real significant progress in my skill, i just get bored of it and wont even touch my guitar for another month. and when i pick it up again im back to where i started. brutal

I’m not officially diagnosed but have a lot of symptoms and getting tested soon, always been crazy obsessed with everything nature every since I was a kid, I used to constantly go on and on telling people about nature facts that nobody gives a fuck about. Does that count?

I do this but its probably due to my adhd. You might have adhd as well, there's a lot of overlap between adhd and autism.

I’ve been very interested in insects since i was very young. I still collect insects especially grasshoppers sometimes

Since i was young, i keep rewatching godzilla movies when i use my TV and still do it now only. They’re awesome

I don't even think you can call it interest and I am not sure whether I have autism, but I definitely cycle.

Yours is at least productive, I spend way too much time collecting porn or playing (one) video game (and in a very repetitive fashion)

For me, it’s a mix: I have a few core hobbies i’m interested in that i’ve stuck with consistently for decades, but then some which I cycle through sporadically. I’d say I lean closer to the latter though.

Somewhat similar to mine: I’ve been interested in re-starting worldbuilding for awhile now, yet i’ve done my usual procrastination & also been side-tracked by new vidya, music, other stuff I do online, etc.

I’ve also been considering staring a new hobby or even sport for some time now.

That’s rough, and pretty relatable tbh; I once tried guitar myself.

This happens when I vidyamaxx a lot, since i will play one for sometime, get bored, then quit for awhile; only to procrastinate over playing to for a few months & come back forgetting it all.
