Answer regarding the cross On the cross, the Son died in human form, not the Father. It was His choice to enter into suffering, not weakness. Christians believe in one God. The Trinity is how this one God reveals Himself: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
It is precisely because Jesus was obedient to the Father that we do not believe in three gods. Father and Son are distinct persons within the same God. Obedience only exists when there are two subjects. If Jesus were the Father himself, it would not make sense for him to obey himself. Jesus obeying the Father proves that there are not three gods/persons.
