10 years ago, Roosh was a true trailblazer who was able to unite men in a one-of-a-kind community and undoubtedly improved hundreds if not thousands of lives.
But in the past five years he acted more as a caretaker of a forum that had long taken on its own momentum while he focused on political and philosophical questions. The forum gained its value through countless other contributors and posters - without them RVF would have been nothing. Without them, Roosh would have been nothing. They raised his sites' profiles, gave him traffic, bought his books and ultimately, put food on Roosh's table, enabling him to do what he did best. And it's those men that he is now turning his back on. Which is he is free to do, but so are people to criticize it.
I hold no ill will towards Roosh, but I do towards the bootlickers who now come crawling out of the woodwork celebrating and lambasting all those who invested years into the community and mourn its impending loss. These zealots now claim that they always knew better anyways, and that Roosh's decision is not to questioned, while they lean back in their comfortable married and/or uber-religious middle-age lifestyle with no horse in the race. Such display of hypocrisy is usually only seen on the Left and says a lot about the true moral character of many of the forum's supposed high-rep figureheads.

I guess he figures that a good amount of people who are religious conservatives are happy to accept former degenerates as long as they recant their past, repent for their sins, and maintain the appearance of a reformed, born again christian. Modern Christians are big on the whole forgiveness thing and he could be used as an example that "anyone can be saved". Of course, imagining this is extremely far-fetched. And gaining acceptance from religious conservatives doesn't mean he'll be able to profit off of them financially.
Maybe he figures that he doesn't really have any other choices left since his books got banned on amazon, he's digitally blacklisted, he's too ethnic for the alt-right, and given how he's been doxxed it would be impossible for him to get a normal job.
