As a teenager, I wanted to be a rapper or at the very least a musician.
With a "purpose" like this, all the red pill takes make sense.
It gives you hope, and it feels like all the time and energy you put into it will bring a return on investment.
However I didn't actually know how to make music, and years ago I gave on wanting to be a rapper JFL.
Now I only have my nerdy passions and interests.
And while they are enjoyable, it is virtually impossible for them to bring me status.
Sometimes I cope with "maybe I will meet a female who is impressed that I'm good at this" JFL.
No matter how much I learn about these nerdy interests, they will never bring me the hope that music did.
Status/fame is the only thing with potential to overcome bad genetics.
