A coffee maker may give great coffee but it is the owner who should decide when to use it and who should enjoy it. I’m thinking of various situations of property rights:
- If the owner wants to share the coffee maker with others, I think that’s his right, but not recommended since it might be overused and mistreated.
- If someone else steals the coffee maker and misuses it, then that’s a violation of property rights. It was not the thief’s coffee to enjoy.
- If one’s coffee maker gets old or can’t give good coffee anymore, then I think it’s okay if he gets another model.
- If you want a used coffee maker at a discount price, I guess that’s okay and it might still make good coffee, but the best years of service might be gone.
- In a civilized society, every man should be able to afford a coffee maker, or at least the enjoyment of coffee at coffee bars.
- Some people might want to build their own coffee makers from scratch. This might work but it might not be as good as the real thing.
- Although you might want coffee right now, sometimes you have to wait a bit for it to be fully assembled else you risk damaging your property.
- Coffee makers can be used for other things but we all know they were made for coffee.
