Post pics of cars you like V2

How much power
not much by the standards of the time, peaked at like 160hp gross and 210 ft lbs

better heads and exhaust from the 389 bolt up but the hard part is getting a more aggressive cam in. The cam is unique so would have to be custom made

Damn lol, not very fast

those cars were very light, it was prolly adequete by 1960s standards

tempests were among the 1st cars with a rear transaxle, similar to c5-c7 corvettes
Yep, interesting

Amazing design, Interesting for planes, not cars.

these are decent but heavy, but usually trashed by their original "multicultural" buyers
Chargers and Challengers are legitimately cool, but shame nogs ruined them so much

my dads summer tires are from 2010
he doesnt believe me when i say theyre no good
Sounds how it should be:

It's normal for parents to never believe what their kids say : - )

Me: "Hey mam look at that one on TV, she has a big hole in her ear you can see right through it. "
"No that is not a hole. that's an clip-on earring"
"Yes it's a hole, come here close to the TV then you can see it better. You can even see the wall behind it right through the hole.
"No I am not coming. It is a clip-on ! I had a just one like that when I was young."
Me making picture of the hole, showing her, zoomed in. Wall is clearly visable right through the ear. You can even put a finger through it.
"No can't be. Must be a clip-on !"

parents.....

Hope the garage checks those tires for not drying/hardening out to much.

You could call his car ensurance company and record what they say about it and play it for him.
He might believe them when they say about possibly reducing ensurance cover.
Also the manufactorors might state something about 10 years max on their website.
Sometimes parents believe othERs.

If it’s a very quiet area where he drives slowly, lots of keeping distance. it will hopefully be fine for the time being.
And I am sending some good luck over to him too.

>>> can you delete this one later ? cheers

Toyota's were the bomb in the time

give me the M550 diesel touring full options, please.
Thanks.

They drive with insane super speeds in Germany for hours at a time. Great cooling and very economical at high speeds. Not one tank of gas per two hours . transmission made for very low rpm while flying, and everyone goes aside when they see BMW’s approach from behind.

I like to drive behind them and use them as ‘free the lane’ plow.

For my car no one goes aside. “O that thing can’t keep up, let’s stay on the left lane they think” aaaaaholes. Good thing I am there almost never.

Volvo 240 was and is very cool. Did it have manual 4 speed transmission with a button on the stick for the 5th electrical overdrive gear ? I love Volvo seats. One of the bests. And the laud fast klick-klick klick-klick sounds when you didn’t put on seat belts :}

This one is Volvo 740. Mine had 5-speed manual and 2,0 engine. It weren't in best condition but it was really enjoyable to drive. Good visibility outside, pure mechanical sound and it was still quite soft and comfortable. Sadly mine didn't have that clicking sound due to it being probably broken.

Yes the 7 was station, 2 sedan. Second number was the amount of cylinders, four or six. There was a turbo version too, often in mogger black.

Maybe you always did your seatbelt on before it started making the sound in your 240. I cannot remember if there was a delay, it was decades ago, but it sounded like this.

Both 240 and 740 were available as a sedan and wagon. Mine had badge someone of previous owners took off "740 GL". I purposely didn't fasten seatbelt while starting the car so I could hear that sound but nothing happened, some of the seatbelt buckles were broken anyways. Back then the car cost 1000eur so the condition was like that, now these cars have become expensive.

Look at that button

Mine didn't have overdrive gear and that button, just standard 5 gears. I think it were more common in US-spec cars.

You are right. I remembered it wrong with the types. A real 5 speed was newer and available later in time I guess, and much better, came with the Grand Luxury line you had. Volvo was one of the first brands introducing three-point seatbelts I guess.

Cool car !

How much gears does your current car have ? Over here in Europe the engines have less torque, so they add gears to the five that were very good for a long time. Many non-electric and non-performance cars still are manual transmission over here. Did you like stick shift ?

My current car is UK-made Toyota Carina E with 5-speed manual. Volvos definitely mog this one but I'm a neet so I can't afford better cars such as Mercedes W126, BMW e30, e32, e34 or e38 or Volvo 740 in good condition. Anyways I'm grateful for it and I think this Toyota still mogs most of the cars on road nowadays. I don't really like modern cars, for me a sign of a good car is that it has spinning odometer.

Check this out, former North Korean embassy W126 for sale with my desired color. This would be a nice one if I could afford it https://www.nettiauto.com/mercedes-benz/se/14791183

your Toyota mogs all cars over the world in reliability and is fantastic.

You and I definitely don’t want to pay Mercedes spare part and oil-change pricing kek

Those oldschool odometers last decades. I wonder when many of the modern displays showing maps and stuff fail, maybe after 10 years or sooner, and what the carmakers will charge for replacement. It’s a shitshow owners can wait for. I have one of those. Should have been wiser.

ive been looking at the newer volvo wagons

i prefer a low wagon that actually looks like a wagon and not a weird pseudocrossover

2.0T is boring af tho i prefer the days of the inline 5 and (transverse!!) inline 6 volvos

you should install bass boxes in the back of the jeep

NICE

it was very silent inside those cars.
don't think you hear any noises.

screen washing automat 'option'. not cheap.
what did you get?

you press the window washer handle shortly.

10 beams of water wet the window. not two. 10.
the car starts to wipe the windows a few times

THEN

the car goes on making the screen wet again....
and wipes it dry.

this is what i remember
might be wrong

I didn't have one but I was a passenger once in such a thing.
we had only two beams of water at home at our car
