In most languages, you have words like "my, you, his, our, etc."
In Finnish, there are words like that but those are unnecessary.
You can put a suffix to a word to indicate posession.
Koira = dog
Koirani = my dog
Koirasi = your dog
Koiransa = his/her dog
You can also attach other grammatical features to that word.
Koiralleni = to my dog
Koirastani = from my dog
