Show somebody an extremely realistic/well done painting of something simple and generic and everybody will be stunned and it might even appear in the news. Show them a painting with much more creativity but less realism/advanced painting style and they will just just ignore it as a "yet another painting". This proves that even in things like art and culture innate qualities are valued much more highly than character by most people.

Just lawl at thinking looks theory doesn't apply in the world of arts. It's over for CantPaintRealisticallyCels.

Dude impressionism was massive.

If you can't paint realistically, study this style. It makes more sense in the modern era too when anyone has a cell phone and can take "realistic" photos in an instant. True art (expression) still has at least a tiny bit of value.

Cope. There are countless artists like this but only the ones making super realistic stuff ever appear to make it into the news.

Realism is a meme. Nobody gives a shit about hyper realism because it simply copies life itself. Thus is why styles like anime are so popular nowadays.

You underestimate how hard it is to draw good anime.

No i'm not??? I understand the process anime is simply realism exaggerated and simplified in many cases. But because anime is made up from imagination it's actually much harder then pure realism.

Hyperrealism was born in the 1960s. People in general do like the realistic art and architecture with decorations that vanished today after passing through modernism and then to today's plain glass buildings.

????

Almost all modern art that's been exhibited in galleries and sold in the last like 50 years disagrees with you. Low IQ.

Look up Andy Warhol... or Koontz... or Rothko.... or Jackson Pollock... etc

I am not talking about the paintings that art snobs love. I am talking about the average person. The average person will not wow at some random but creative painting.
