I think religion is the biggest coping mechanism there is. It tells you that life sucks but once you die everything will be better. You'll be in heaven and everything you wish for will be granted.

You can never be blackpilled until you realize that there is no god and no afterlife out there and that this life is all you have. That is the brutal truth. It's truly over for you from the moment your genetic codes were being established.

Every hope is a cope.

It can be useful cope. Religion has existed and endured for a long time, during times of utter chaos. It can be effective.

It's bullshit, but if it helps you be content with your miserable life go for it. It's probably objectively better to worship a fictional character powerscaled to omniversal than to off yourself or LDAR for some people. I know some Incels growing up whose only escape and way to vent was going to church. So fuck it, whatever makes you happy.

Yea I agree. I wish I was still a Christian. Believing that Jesus loved me was always a nice cope that made me feel fuzzy inside.

Biggest cope there is,it will get better soon.
But it does have some good things like traditional marriages between two virgins.

God is basically a tulpa.

In general: don't turn to religion unless you can live that type of life. Christianity isn't a rehab centre. Personal problems should go somewhere else :feelsautistic:

Cope in disguise. You came into existence once and you will come into existence again and again, each time experiencing a novel form of suffering, this will go on forever of course. I can't even decide if it would be more terrifying that an omnipresent being created this prison and is happy to rule over us like a warden of the damned, or if this hell dimension was formed by natural processes.

I've read that belief in religion is actually an evolutionary trait. It supposedly acted as a bonding agent among tribes, as well as a way to deal with an unknowable and unfriendly world. And as strange as it is to think of religion being a part of our biology, it's even stranger to think people have believed in magical-nonsense without some inborn credulity.

Religion seems more an obstacle than a cope to me. With the world laid bare as it is today, where skepticism is a requirment, believing in anything spiritual seems inconceivable.

religion is like the original cope from back in the day before internet forums
