Persia is what the Greeks called Iran due to the fact they mistranslated Parsa into Greek as Persian. Parsa is a region in Southern Iran which is where Persians come from. Iran has always been called Eranshahr which means Realm of the Aryans / Empire of the Iranians (i.e. Aryans).
