Gaming Pokémon Sword or Shield?

I want to buy the new Pokémon for my Soytendo Switch.
Only problem here is Idk which one to buy since I have completely no idea what is even the difference between the Sword and Shield. Do you have different starter Pokémon?
I'm to busy to research it due of wageslaving. And I also made this Thread for you workercels.

Pokécels, please tell us the difference between Sword and Shield, so that after work I know which game to buy.

Dunno, but I think the variants have got to do with the "boss" legendary Pokémon that you are able to catch. So in Diamond and Pearl, you could catch Dialga if you picked diamond, and Palkia if you picked Pearl. I'd assume that in Sword and Shield the legendary Pokémon are fairly equal in strength

It is over for Pokemon. So much potential have been wasted by the developers. There is good fanmde Pokemon art out there but GameFreak just does not care at all, instead we get some ''brony'' shit.
