That's right. I remember seeing an entrance exam for MIT from the 1870s, and most of the questions were at the level of Algebra 1 as taught in grades 8 or 9 today.before the age of 25, in graduation you need to know more than everything an intellectual 2 centuries ago knew in their entire life
but today's concepts are more advanced and the market demands, it doesn't make sense that it has become easiernot really, its quite dumbed down nowadays. Tests back then demanded higher writing skills, and higher IQ, but now its more about regurgitation. You can handle most questions as how an AI does, with a ton of practice tests/data-- reworking what has already been done before

they are more advanced, but there's also so much more resources to help you learn something too.but today's concepts are more advanced and the market demands, it doesn't make sense that it has become easier
