That's right. I remember seeing an entrance exam for MIT from the 1870s, and most of the questions were at the level of Algebra 1 as taught in grades 8 or 9 today.
 
not really, its quite dumbed down nowadays. Tests back then demanded higher writing skills, and higher IQ, but now its more about regurgitation. You can handle most questions as how an AI does, with a ton of practice tests/data-- reworking what has already been done before

but today's concepts are more advanced and the market demands, it doesn't make sense that it has become easier

they are more advanced, but there's also so much more resources to help you learn something too.

Back then you just had only the textbook, and you couldn't retake exams or get adderall.

You need to know more subject material to keep with the newest advances in the fields you're studying. That makes sense. Not to mention a lot of these specific branches of science and mathematics didn't even exist back then.
