It does not prove that Christianity is the true religion and is also contrary to Christianity itself. If someone follows Christianity out of self-preservation rather than out of genuine faith in the word of God, then he is not a Christian according to the teachings of the Bible.

The wager doesn't make sense because if you belief in God's existence just to escape hell, you really don't belief in God's existence. You are just conforming to the idea just to be safe, which isn't true belief. Kind of like being silent under a oppressive regime.

I think it makes more sense from an irreligious perspective. That Pascal, a devout Christian, formulated it is interesting. Belief in God is central to Christianity more so than adherence for fear of divine punishment.

Anyways, I feel like many in CS are a layoff away from going full Pascal
