I feel like some parents put religion on way too high of a pedestal and try to connect it to literally everything. Like somehow every good thing that happens is because of religion, and every bad thing is because you didnβt do enough.
What annoys me is when they start making claims about things that donβt even have anything to do with it. Theyβll say praying more will make you more successful, more attractive, more lucky, or that everything in your life will magically improve if you just follow it.
This happens to me too. I remember my mom telling me that if I kept up with my prayers, I would become more beautiful and blessed and god will help with my acne problems. The funny thing is, she even said stuff like this when I was literally just pretending to pray. Thatβs when I started realizing how some parents will say anything to make their kids follow what they believe in, even if the promises theyβre making arenβt really something they can prove.
Iβm not saying people canβt believe in religion or that it doesnβt help some people, but I think some parents need to stop acting like itβs the answer to every single thing. Sometimes things happen because of your choices, your environment, or just life itself, not because of whether you did a certain ritual enough times.
Anyways that's just what I think maybe I'm wrong but we can share opinions about it
