Pseudo moralistic views are just often a coverup for laziness/ lack of passion and convictio nto hel pa child out when the yare in bad need for love and consideration.
When a child is given the throwaway cheap bs virtuism of "be happy with what you have", then that will not help him, underplays his plights, implies lack of help, and maybe is a signal of indifference from the parent.
In everything there are two reasons, the good reason and the real reason.
Everyone preaching that be confident BS is probably just triyng to create a veneering virtue out of a volatile situation, or stance they have that they want to pseudo-signal their way out of. No culpability ofr them if they jusy keep playing the virtue game, and living the lie.
