This is why I consider Arkham Asylum to be a superior game to Arkham City. The story was much more linear, and since it was the first installment in the series, it just had a simplicity that games nowadays can’t replicate. You actually felt like the Batman, and the atmosphere was peak. The joker was always one step ahead. It’s one of my favorite story based games.

I moved it to gaming. Haven't played but I probably agree. Arkham City looks like an assassin's creed game.

In that case I won’t spoil the story but I recommend it definitely. Good story and doesn’t have any open world slop. The only side quests are riddler trophies but considering the whole game takes place on one island it doesn’t feel like too much. City is only superior combat wise, but it has a million sidequests and the story didn’t feel as authentic as Asylum. During Asylum you’re a lone wolf, in City it feels like everything is happening all at once and you can’t properly digest the game.

Typical sequel. More quantity without properly scaling the quality as well.

For real it should have happened in Gotham
