Well, afaik in some animal shelters they actually do kill the animals of after keeping them for a certain amount of time.
Imo, having pets should be outlawed. Keeping an animal recreationally is just fucking stupid anyway.
I personally have seen quite a few animals being left behind on the side of the road in a cardboard box.
Most of the time kittens, bust sometimes puppies also.
It is basically animal cruelty. Tbh, the pet nutters are more often than not the real animal abusers, by overfeeding them, by keeping them for no reason in a small apartment without the possibility to get out for a walk, by not neutering them and letting them breed uncontrollably etc. etc. .
Way too many pets exist that should not even exist.
And I don't even mean to be bad to those animals.
It's the fucking pet nutters who only think about themselves, and not the animals.
And every christmas parents gift their spoiled and irresponsible kids some pet, which they grow tired of afyer a few weeks.
Then a couple of weeks after christmas you see those cardboard boxes on the side of the road every now and then or they bring them to the animal shelters.
And then you have those old farts who get a support animal because otherwise they'd be absolutely alone because their children and grandchildren just won't ever visit them.
