Dexter and the punisher are the best example of this (and almost interchangeable caracters). One kills serial killers (cause his family was murked by one). The other kills "regular"criminals (same reason, dif subjects).

But, since what they are killing are scum and the lowest of the low, people even cheer that shit up like they are heroes, and not deeply disturbed individuals who are reenacting their trauma over and over again (like its gonna make a difference!) To feel some wicked control about it...

There's a strong element of instrumentality there, I think? Neither of those guys are drawing the kills out for extended durations, and the consequences of their violence can end up in a net positive. I would definitely not put those sorts of guys in the same categories as the worst of the worst that we were discussing. But, yeah, it's obvious they're not really doing all that right after getting their PhD in ethics. The better heroes like Batman/Naruto and whoever tend to have that thing where they want to avoid killing even very nasty characters if possible.

I've noticed there's a lot more foids that like Dexter than those who like the Punisher. At least the Punishers motives is understandable, Dexter is just a sociopath who enjoys it. If he wasn't a cop, he'd be doing the same things those other serial killers are doing except to innocent people.

At that age we don't really have enough brain development to have the best morality (so I suppose we'd hope children had some great guidance from adults). Shit comes online way late and is about done at like 25 or whatever, and now I've even heard 32 being thrown around as well (though I fail to remember exactly what these average ages would mean in detail in terms of performance/judgement). I remember when I was a teen I was at the normie-level of wanting gratuitous punishments for horrible crimes (still not as bad as many people I've heard from, but nevertheless); some people just stay teens for life, I guess (no surprise, since we know women are "dating" and looking for big penises at 40/50+ and guys are chasing, simping, and cucking, hard, into their 80s). I also had a completely idiotic version of nihilism some years back. I understand more or less how this sort of person "develops" into what they are/how they view things. It's all so horrible and sad.
