Oh boy. I’ve watched, from beginning to end, the last 10 or so livestreams. It is an absolute shit show.
-Brooks has trouble pronouncing very basic words.
-He has no conception of how the law works. He thinks if he repeats a certain sequence of certain magic words, that the court will have no choice but to dismiss the case
-objects to virtually every question the prosecution asked. Someone on YouTube was keeping count, and the last time I checked, the number was around 1400.
-“grounz” is one of brooks favorite lawyer words. He heard lawyers say it, so thinks it’s one of those magic words that you say and then get what you want. Grounz was uttered 500+ times. Sometimes in nonsensical ways, like “objection, grounz”
-His line of questioning directed at the witnesses has no clear trajectory. The questions are either wholly unrelated to the case, or pertain to irrelevant minutia.
-On several occasions, his line of questioning served to incriminate him further (even when he was questioning HIS witnesses)
-He made a big deal about the state of wisconsin (the plaintiff) not being a living, breathing person, but rather an entity. And how that means that since there is no injured party to bring charges against him, the case must be dismissed
-When it was his turn to call up his witnesses, he called up the fucking State of Wisconsin to the stand LMFAO
-one of his very own witnesses visibly wanted to strangle him (the well-spoken methhead, mr. jacket)
-He refuses to admit that he is, in fact Darrel brooks. Anytime someone in the court says that name, he objects with “I don’t consent to being called that name”. I legitimately thought that his plan, given he shaved his head and beard, was to straight up deny being Darrel brooks when this elusive “Darrell Brooks” character is sentenced. That is until I realized he is so retarded, he is not capable of coming up with a game plan and sticking to it for that long.
-Mean mugging and threatening the judge
-Cursing in court.. “Ain’t no please, nigga!’ To the judge
-Gets kicked out of court frequently. There was an entire day that was spent doing nothing but kicking him out of court and reinviting him back in. Nothing was accomplished that day.
-“Subject matter jurisdiction’ “Tackit agreement”
At one point his strategy was to bring into question the court’s authority and legitimacy by claiming that it is an admiralty court (maritime court)
-His strategy in his closing statements to the jury was to inform them of jury nullification, despite being lectured by the judge for over an hour that he does not have the right to tell the jury that. He did not even attempt to elaborate on what jury nullification is to the jury, so it’s doubtful that he even knows what it is
-Requested a mistrial from the judge when some prank Reddit post came to light
-And oh yeah, he got sent to the neighboring courtroom, where he could be observed by the court on cameras, and he built a fort out of his boxes of paperwork to hide behind.
So yeah. There was so much meme worth action over the last 3 weeks that I’m sure the above doesn’t even cover half of it.
But it’s not over yet. He was found guilty on all charges this morning, and sentencing is set for Monday. The consensus is that there will be a biblical, nuclear chimpout when he is sentenced to 6 life terms.
I’m generally not one to instinctively rush to the defense of the victims of violent crime, or necessarily condemn the suspects, until I find out who my sympathies lie with, but this fucker decapitated a kid, and paralyzed another. There is also the theory that his attack was motivated by his hatred for whites, and generally considered as being retaliatory against whites for Kyle Rittenhouse’s acquittal. No doubt the whites in the prison he’s heading to will catch wind of this, and the fact that he killed children.. He may very well get murdered in prison.
