What do these three things have in common?
- Very low likelihood of success (according to data is beautiful somewhere in the range of 1/1000 for men).
- High payoff if successful.
- A game like system that could be addictive to someone who is vulnerable to it.
- The constant justifications of those who "play" that it is worthwhile because "someone ends up winning!"
Getting laid is becoming like winning a lottery or hitting a jackpot. People used to term getting laid as "getting lucky." But that was kind of as a joke. Never before in history have you really needed this much luck.
At least in lotteries and slot machines, they don't care how good looking you are. You actually do have a chance. With dating, whether you won or not was set at birth and puberty (ie. the genetic lottery). And if you lost, you probably lost forever.
