Cope One of my most effective copes is ''mental distraction''. The more layers you add to it, the more effective it is.

Last year when I was a NEET, I had a lot of free time, but that isn't as great as you may think. This meant I had a lot of time for the fact that I am a complete loser to sink it. I am a 31 yeards old KHHV still living with my parents, with no friends, working a stressful and horrible entry level call.

Meanwhile, most of my peers had already started to get married and have children, while I didn't even get the chance to hold hands with a woman yet...

This caused me to be highly suicial, and the cope I call mental distraction has helped me a lot.

I came to the conclusion that pain is essentially your mind focusing actively on something bad. So the solution is to keep your mind busy with something else, and keep your thoughts elsewhere, so that the realization you are an ugly subhuman cannot fully sink in hurt you.

I use what I call mental distraction to shield myself from these thoughts and it can several layers. The more layers you add to it, the more effective it is.

Here is an example of the mental distraction technique I use:

Layer 1: a white noise ASMR video (fluffy mic scratching, 50% volume)

Layer 2: a second ASMR video playing at the same time (kisses, 50% volume):

View: https://youtu.be/q4hxnl7jteM?si=ot0ilY3dCNH7XBGw

The first two layers are entirely auditory.

Layer 3: playing a low mental load game like Minecraft (100% volume)

Layer 4: playing a YouTube video by using the Picture-in-Picture feature of Firefox to add it as a pop-up visible while playing Minecraft (50% volume), looking something like this:

The example is an Asmongold commentary video, which doesn't take a lot of brain power to process :feelsokman:

So there can be 4 active layers, all running at the same time keeping your mind busy and distracting you. Listening to two different white noise ASMR videos while playing Minecraft and watching a YouTube video.

It's greatly effective :feelshmm:

And if you want to get crazy with the auditory stimuli, you could add Layer 5 :feelsdevil:

Layer 5 (optional): playing music (25% volume).

Layer 6: getting high or drunk :feelsYall:

In my case, it's always getting drunk as I can't get access to stuff that makes you high. But being buzzed makes you feel better and acts as an amplifier for the other stimuli.

Layer 7: turning on my dehumidifier device which creates a low, steady humming noise.

So you could have four auditory layers, one interactive layer, one visual layer and one chemical layer. You are overstimulating your mind with all these sensory inputs that it doesn't get the chance to focus on the bad thoughts.

This is how I beat depressive and suicidal thoughts :feelsokman:

I need to keep my bad thoughts at bay, or else they will destroy me
Escapismmaxxing is one of the oldest coping strategies in the book but ASMRmaxxing............... :dafuckfeels::dafuckfeels::dafuckfeels:

Haven't tried it yet, but it seems like this would make me more suicidal and anxious.

Just tried it. Holy crap this is soothing. Was not expecting this at all. Actually a great method :feelsthink::feelshaha:

now do this while you are high

now do this while you are high
This would be Layer 6 :feelsdevil:

I can't get high, but I often get drunk. One moment, let me edit the post.

Wow I do the same thing basically

Wow I do the same thing basically
I cannot sleep without background white noise anymore. I have a dehumidifier that I turn on every day before going to sleep solely for the noise it makes.

Wow. Never tried this but this looks like a highly efficient way of distracting yourself from reality.

This is what I intend to do when my parents will die of old age. I will need to do this not to go feral from grief. I will think of possibiy adding 1-2 extra layers.

I do something quite similar that i call "meditation". It involves constant auditory and visual stimulation, that fits my mental state. Basically, I watch this with mute on:

Whilst also listening to this:

Yes, this is an effective cope :feelsokman:

That's one of many such examples. Ofcourse, alchohol is just better.
Watching stuff, listening to stuff AND drinking alcohol, that's how it's done :feelsEhh:

How long have you been doing this

I do the same thing have to have some sort of background noise to help me fall asleep otherwise it doesn't work

Layer 8 : squirting pussy ASMR

This seems like a great cope ngl.

As technology improves more layers can be added like some robot jerking you off or physically stimulating your senses:feelsdevil:

My mental distraction is just working but if i lose focus too much i might lose a hand or an arm so i gotta be careful

Good idea tbh, there’s some really good brands of headphones out there

I would love to find something, that can keep me distracted from my worries and problems, for hours on end.

Whenever I try and cope with something, the bad feelings/ thoughts are always there, in the background. The most effective things I've found are sleeping, or substance abuse, but I can't do that stuff, non stop all the time.

This sounds bonkers mental, but I will try it.

1 layer is normally good enough for me.

Need more layers, the worse it is, the more layers are needed :feelsokman:
Hmm, I can see how complete mental distraction can be achieved this way. Bookmarked this thread for a later date. :feelsaww:

I used to listen to asmr to cope too lol, but now it makes me feel worse so I've long discarded it
Yes, the ASMR is not enough. You need more layers, you need a multi-layer cope!

I've been utilising this very method myself for years and can attest to its effectiveness. High IQ thread. :bigbrain:

Rather complex, I just use copes and Chadfish with heavy concentration on imagination. Sometimes I convince myself the girls I masturbate to are my girlfriends, and when I'm lying in bed trying to sleep I think about our dates and then wonder who I'm going to fuck (fap to) tomorrow, cause I'm a living Chad with a digital harem, but it's real, in my head.
