Including humans, even though we don’t have the same extent as plants and animals with genetic variation between ethnic groups (more accurate than race), there is still differences in phenotype and health related things in DNA of different ethnic groups. When you mix ethnic groups, the next generation does have some traits of hybrid vigor. Also we are pretty inbred especially if you are from the same ethnic group going back 1000 years your going to have a lot cousins that married each other.
I also want to add that we probably intrinsically have known this in an instinctual way. It’s why every ethnic group has some form of genetic admixture because we slowly integrate different ethnic groups so that we don’t recycle the same genes. It’s why humans bred with Neanderthals, Denisovans and the African ghost ancestor.
