Like recently I've found myself buying DVDs instead of buying the movies on Amazon Prime or whatever just because... I know they'll work. I won't have issues with my choice of browser or choice of OS or DRM issues or anything!

I'll put the DVD in and it will play. If there's a problem then it's usually super easy to solve.

Hm other old tech I use...

I guess wired keyboard and mouse, debit cards not paying with my phone, I never really use smart tech other than my phone. idk probably more.

I guess sometimes things just fail the cost/benefit analysis for me!

What about you guys? ^_^

I don't use old tech I am a hyper modernist with an ai fridge I can talk to and grok controls my tv. My phone is also a hologram

I'm going to stop throwing away technology from now on unless it is completely trashed, because home computing in any form is being priced out for consumers for the foreseeable future.

I guess cable TV still counts as old tech.

I bought a TV this week just because I had free Best Buy $10 so it ended up being about $40. It comes with a ton of free channels that's great for background noise.

I also use wired mouse because I don't need wireless. I only have wireless keyboard because @Fat Link :feelsaww:

I use a computer in my house that I sit down to use and save my files locally on my computer with a dvd drive.

Auxiliary cord, it's way better than blue tooth but gets phased out. Crisper probably lossless audio without interference.

Bittorrent :feelsdevil:

Oh I use these cables obsessively, lol

Even my phone still has a headphone jack. It makes life way easier.

I don't think this counts as old tech, and it's still preferable to the wireless ones.

Yeah wireless keyboards make zero sense to me.

Wireless mice make some sense but seem to have pros and cons over wired.

Why don't you just torrent your media

Only minus is the charging, the latency is so low at this point some wireless mice have lower latency than most wired, keyboard is just full retarded tho

Cost is one too though. My mouse cost £5 I think lol

Yea all my headphones are all wired, no need to worry about batteries. Only my mouse is wireless.

Wow I accidentally ordered a video CD!

It says it only plays in a Philips CD-i but... I wouldn't rule out it working with VLC or whatever.

I ordered 2 copies of Star Trek Generations... partly by accident and partly because I wanted to see if there was a significant difference between 2 releases. They were both cheap.

But one turned out to actually be a Video CD!

I'll let you guys know if it plays through VLC or mplayer!

Wired headphones for my phone, wired mouse and keyboard for my PC

I also have some CDs which I listen to in my car on occasion. I found that the audio quality is much better than listening to off Bluetooth/Apple CarPlay/Android Auto

Oh interesting. I didn't realise that CDs could still win out in situations like that.

Yeah I love wired earphones. They can be work to untangle but they're so cheap and work so well. OK I have to replace them sometimes but whatever.

I got an old-ass pc with windows 7 that I'm typing from right now, an old wired printer, wired keyboard/mouse, a pack of DVDs with a bunch of movies, pay only with cash. Fuck modern technology tbh

I have a PC from like 2012 that i still use sometimes

I listen to CD's sometime
