It seems incredibly retarded to me that foids only care about looks (and money). Maybe it's useless to try to understand but it seems the apex of stupidity. Why exactly are they so obsessed with looks?

Because your phenotype correlates strongly with your genetic quality and genotype. Foids are programmed to look for the best mates because of the fact that it is a high risk game. We can have as many children as we want and don't have to worry about either carrying a child in the womb for 9 months nor the biological clock. Foids on the other hand are biologically wired to be picky of said reasons.
Edit: Hypergamy was always the norm in sexual selection within humans. It was just controlled and regulated for most of the time in history. With women right, and the first feminist uprising, things changed. That, and the the fact that technology got into the game. It was never easier finding Chad for a foid.

It is a bit more complicated than that, but in a nutshell, yeah i think so. Lots of literature about the correlation, but there is still no causal evidence, just correlation.

Looks are entirely genetic. So good looking father means the child has a much higher probability of being good looking. Note I'm saying "higher probability" as genetic recombination is a thing.
Also looks are the first thing people notice when they see you, and they'll make assumptions about you based on that. (see: halo/failo effect)
That said, I just thought of an interesting thought experiment. I think if there was a way to reliably and accurately gauge IQ just by looking at someone, as in you could see their IQ like you can see their face and height, women would go for IQ over looks. As in if things always worked this way, women would have evolved to go for IQ above everything else. Face and height would still matter of course. I wonder if how unpopular this opinion is....let me test it out here.
