I'm not educated on this so grain of salt: Occam's razor is something you go for in uncomplicated non-critical scenarios/when you're short on time/cognition. Hankering to apply it outside of desperate circumstance doesn't make sense to me.

How could we apply Occam’s razor to the BP? Easy, because it’s already applied. Out of all the theories about human sexuality and its effects on society, the BP is the most parsimonious; that is, it answers most questions with more empirical evidence and fewer conjectures
