in addition to the whole empathetic gender garbage, my bigger problem with this field is that women actively gatekeep so that it stays a female dominated field. Of course if you're good looking or a gay man or just unusually compliant you can kind of make it as a guy, but that doesn't make it any better really.

at least with elementary school teachers I think a lot of men do not want to work with children anyway so it is a bit more justifiable than nursing.

Statistics show that more women than men are becoming doctors now too and I have no doubt it will continue to worsen

Nurses carry out the majority of medical treatment in the US and medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death

Also it's not so much that I think men would be good at nursing so much as that having more male nurses would break the toxic female hive mind that results in the " we protect our own" mentality that results in lookism and egregious medical errors being swept under the rug

I would prefer men as nurses any day, males are more skilled, but the females take the role as it is one of the jobs they can actually work at.

I had a Filipino nurse in Auckland miss the vein when she stuck the need in. Then they proceeded to hook me up to all this stuff just so I could be denied surgery a few hours later as a "more urgent case" came through
