I don't listen to normie music, I'm not a big fan of music in general. I'll listen to Lil Pump once in a while, because I find his shtick funny, but other than that my only exposure to normie music is background music in public spaces like shops and malls. Today I had the pleasure to listen to Close to Me by Ellie Goulding, Diplo and Swae Lee. The song caught my attention, because it's a prime example of normie music having no filters - real-life normies will often self-censor to appear less corrupt, but their music shows their true faces. It's better to read the lyrics without music, because music can distract you or affect emotionally.
This is a basic wild love-kinda song sung by a foid and a chad.
The foid starts off by describing terrible morals of the couple.
So here's some normie music for you, enjoy.
The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory (jfl @ 6 writers writing 2.5 lowbrow verses and a chorus), but I'll provide a simple breakdown.[Verse 1: Ellie Goulding]
Even though we both know we're liars and we start each other's fires
We just know that we'll be alright
Even though we're kicked out the party 'cause we both hate everybody
We're the ones they wanna be like
[Pre-Chorus: Ellie Goulding]
So don't let me down
Keep me in trouble
Born to be wild
Out in the jungle
[Chorus: Ellie Goulding & Swae Lee]
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me
And if it wasn't you, I wouldn't want anybody
Close to me (Yeah, yeah)
'Cause I'm an animal, animal-al
Like animal, like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me (Woo)
[Verse 2: Swae Lee]
You can never come too close for comfort
I had to cut my bitch off, she bein' stubborn (Stubborn)
I make it known I fuck with you, not undercover ('Cover)
And when I jump in, I'm burnin' rubber (Yeah, skrrt)
Iced out body, didn't go to college (Yeah, yeah)
Price tag poppin', then you on a private (Then you on a)
Don't say "Sorry," everyone's watchin' (Everyone)
When you're where I am, everything's timeless (Yeah, yeah)
[Chorus: Ellie Goulding & Swae Lee]
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me
And if it wasn't you, I wouldn't want anybody
Close to me (Yeah, yeah)
'Cause I'm an animal, animal-al
Like animal, like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me (Yee)
Close to me
[Break: Ellie Goulding & Swae Lee]
Close to me (Woo)
Yeah
[Bridge: Ellie Goulding]
Animal, animal-al
Like animal, like you
[Chorus: Ellie Goulding & Swae Lee]
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body (Yeah)
Close to me
And if it wasn't you, I wouldn't want anybody
Close to me (Yeah, yeah)
Because I'm an animal, animal-al
Like animal, like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me
Close to me
[Outro: Ellie Goulding]
(To me)
Close to me
This is a basic wild love-kinda song sung by a foid and a chad.
The foid starts off by describing terrible morals of the couple.
She proceeds by calling the normies out, saying their morality is a façade, they'd all prefer to be a bunch of chads and stacies who don't have to adhere to any moral standards. She also admits her hate for betas.we both know we're liars and we start each other's fires
She says she enjoys this lifestyle and wants to continue her wild ways.Even though we're kicked out the party 'cause we both hate everybody
We're the ones they wanna be like
The chorus starts. In the first two lines the foid declares her love for the chad by saying that she doesn't want to be somebody without [the chad's] body close to [her]. What's remarkable is the word choice: the lines seemingly only state her unwillingness to be away from the lover, but actually she says she doesn't want to be away from his body. The dehumanising context also sparks doubt about the use of the word somebody. It was obviously chosen, because it's synonymous with someone while rhyming with your body, but given the context we can wonder if it isn't a statement where she admits she's somebody, just some body, a body.Keep me in trouble
The self-dehumanising reaches its peak in the line:And I don't wanna be somebody without your body
Close to me
followed by a line where she includes her lover in the world of wild animals. The metaphor is obviously meant to express how they can't control themselves, they're acting on their instincts.'Cause I'm an animal, animal-al
Then the chad character talks in derogatory tone about the foid.Like animal, like you
He admits his pride in his sexual conquests.I had to cut my bitch off, she bein' stubborn (Stubborn)
He says he's rich despite his lack of education.I make it known I fuck with you, not undercover ('Cover)
Finally he suggests the foid has sex with him for money.Iced out body, didn't go to college (Yeah, yeah)
Price tag poppin', then you on a private (Then you on a)
So here's some normie music for you, enjoy.
