Fun fact: Mussolini tried to stop this phenomenon by inventing new italian words to replace the foreign ones in use. Many actually caught on and are still being used today. "Monopoly" was retitled "Monopoli" in italy for decades for this exact reason.

English is my third language and I just write without paying close attention to grammar, mistakes or how the sentences are structured. Most people's second English is far better than they themselves realize. And it's sufficient to get across what they mean. If YOU can understand the broken version of your native language some low-status immigrant workers speak, native English speakers here will understand your complex thoughts on, say, the interplay between the economy and feminism.

What's your primary language? How did you learn English to any extent? What languages do you speak? Do they have any advantages?

I've always considered myself lucky to be native English but also unlucky to not have other languages because I can't escape English nations (which are all degenerate shitholes) unless I get some new languages.

I just signed up for Babbel.com though which is really nice. I'm learning Russian first. Cyrillic is fun. The language is not too different from English so far once you get used to the alphabet but I'm just starting.
